An aerial photograph of the Trans Alaska Oil Pipeline pump station No. 1 at Prudhoe Bay. This is the start of the 800-mile long Trans Alaska pipeline to Valdez. It is belived more than 17 billion barrels of crude oil has been transported the 800 mile to Valdez, enough crude oil to ship out more than 20,000 Super Tankers to the lower 48. The oil pipeline has been operational for 32 years or so. The oil pipeline holds about 9,057,059 bbl of crude oil.
