An aerial low alitude photo of the flow lines at the Alpine Oil Field on the North Slope of Alaska. The flow lines transport a mixture of oil, gas and water to the water separation plant where the oil is separated and pumped over to Pump Station 1 for transportation through the 800 miles long Trans Alaska Oil Pipeline down to Valdez. The water and gas is transported back to the well head for re-injection into the producing oil well to help maintain the pressure in the well. The pipelines have a low impact on the tundra where wildlife can walk under the structure.
